Windshields are constructed with two layers of tempered glass and a plastic middle layer. If the crack is on the outer layer, you may be able to fix it. If it’s too long, you’ll need to replace your windshield. Small cracks should be sealed before they become longer and deeper.

To repair small cracks, purchase a windshield repair kit. With the pin, clean out the cracked area and remove any loose fragments. Rub the area with alcohol wipes. The hole is sealed with resin. Follow the instructions on the package precisely. The whole process should take about 30-45 minutes. Do this in direct sunlight or use a UV light to cure the resin.

Repair kits will work for small cracks. If cracks are not addressed swiftly, you’ll end up getting the entire windshield replaced. You can either DIY to repair a small crack or take it to the auto repair shop to be fixed or replaced.
